- During your consultation, we use a continuous radon detector to record levels over two days and inspect the property to observe any unique factors affecting radon levels.
- If radon levels are above 4.0 pCi/L, we start mitigating by depressurizing the soil, which stops radon from entering living spaces through the stack effect or natural air movement throughout the property.
- Radon gas is redirected by drilling a hole in the foundation floor to create a suction point and connecting a PVC pipe. Gas is vented through the pipe and runs through a fan in the attic or along the top of the structure to direct it outside.
- We use a urethane caulking compound to seal gaps, cracks, openings, and other radon entryways in the property.
- Our team inspects the fan and other components to ensure the radon mitigation system functions according to industry standards. We also use a continuous radon detector within 30 days of the installation to make sure the system is maintaining radon gas at recommended levels.
